Palomar - now that’s good pop music. On their third album, this quartet of New Yorkers has created a fine slab of ear-catching fare that manages to get stuck in your head after only one listen. Combine Velocity Girl and Dressy Bessy and you have an idea what they sound like, or maybe Henry’s Dress but without all that fuzz. Not unlike godheads Guided By Voices, Palomar don’t fuck around when it comes to writing songs – 14 tracks in just 37 minutes makes for some short, sweet, compact pop. Leave them wanting more, they say, and so they did.
